Trending Now: Piolo-KC

Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Everybody’s been talking about it, yes, the Piolo-KC break up. They’re trending topic almost everywhere and I guess I just have to give a comment. What went wrong anyway? Both parties are giving us all question marks and here we are who just love to talk about people, making assumptions.
Being both public personalities and famous artists at that, they just can’t live in privacy and all their feelings and issues are always spoon-fed to the eager public. So, what now?

We all had our share of watching that very revealing and emotional interview of KC with Tito Boy Abunda, she cried, she let out her feelings, her disappointments, and her sacrifices for the relationship. She gave her everything to him and as she said, she wasn’t what he needed in his life. We may all have felt sorry for her and she was obviously the aggrieved party after playing victim of too much love, with the wrong person (enter: Jovit’s Too Much Love Will Kill You on the background) while Piolo on the other side was either giving vague statements or simply joking around the media.
Then goes back to the issue of Piolo being gay. I have nothing against gay guys. See, I have gay friends myself but I’m glad they were openly happy and gay and the Filipinos are being more and more open with this issue, except maybe for show business. We all have our sides and I really think that Piolo is not straight (as one friend said: “Ruler nalang ang straight sa panahon ngayon.” Harsh) He may just have been protecting his sons life and dignity or his showbiz career, we all have seen how his career plummet when Keanu Reeves admitted that he had a guy live in partner (Yeah, the Matrix guy isn’t straight). Piolo is of course, “the ultimate leading man”, his charisma, I don’t know just makes me feel kilig sometimes. You know those eyes, that physique, his voice, he has all the qualities of a dream boy and no matter how I try to stop myself from getting hooked in his magnetic awesomeness and convincing myself he’s gay, I just keep telling myself, “I hope my boyfriend looks like Piolo Pascual”.
Unfortunately for KC, she fell for the wrong guy and she can’t tell anyone that she fell for a gay guy and that what may be made her shut up for a while, taking all the things as long as she could bare until she burst, let it out and thus the dramatic interview. Of course it is easier to tell everyone that there may have been a third party, the boyfriend cheated on a boyfriend, you just can’t bear his vices; but you can never tell a soul that you’ve be madly in love with a gay guy. You are madly in love with a matinee idol you’ve been crushing on since forever coz that may just add insult to you being a woman of dignity and being Sharon Cuneta’s daughter.
And more unfortunate for Piolo, he can’t escape his real self, for no matter how much he tries to cover up his gayness, he would always feel displeasure in relationship with women. To protect his ego, he musn’t use girlfriends to display. Admitting to the public may take a lot of courage to do (remember how Rustom did it), he may need more signs to signal his tell-all. Telling the truth won’t make him lesser of a person – he’s a great father to his son Inigo, he’s a great actor, he looks really good and I don’t think being openly gay would stop him from entertaining people.
Uhm, I don’t know, I don’t need to be this much affected but had both parties, especially Piolo’s been open enough, it won’t have gone to hearts being broken and images being rotten and swarmed by the media and gossiping public. We must always learn to respect each other’s choices but I guess the truth would set us free. With everyone waiting for the next big revelation, more and more people would comment and the worst may come out of this issue. However, I wish Piolo would come to his senses soon, and we should take him as he is for he is still Piolo Pascual we all got kilig with.

About the Blog

WONOLOGUES is an experimental blog I started in 2008. I coined it by combining WOWO+MONOLOGUES. Wowo is my nickname. I was told that it came from the word "wow". I believed them. I envision this blog to be a wonderful monologue as told by Wowo, just a hodgepodge of all things I find wonderful. I just came back from a year of hiatus. New blog posts weekly.
