When I Die

Friday, May 18, 2012

Death is inevitable. It just hits us in the face and we’re gone forever.
We live to die. It’s one of life’s realities we all try to deny, it’s one we all try to escape from.
Death surprises us. It has many forms of coming to us; like a box of chocolates where we don’t know what we’ll get; same goes to whatever cause we die from. It most often times doesn’t come out with a warning or a notice so we try to put armors on, we try to shield ourselves of this common fear.
We try to cover up and take refuge from our religion, health, family, etc. all the things we’ve worked for, all the people we’ve met, all the relationships we’ve nurtured, all the good and bad things we got; can’t be burned with us on the grave.

I envy those who are warned on their upcoming deaths, like the cancer patients.  Death at least is decent enough to tell them when the struggle is going to end. But it also takes them away from living a happily on their remaining days, just thinking about the loved ones to leave behind is just plain torture.
I try to decipher a suicidal’s thoughts before he kills himself. Was he angry? Was he disappointed? Was he a coward? Maybe all of the above. He was too afraid of death’s coming, he decided to die first. He hates surprises, that could be a reason too.

How about the criminal mind? For a little amount of money, a temporary high or madness, he decdes to become Death all powerful and take away lives.
What’s to fear with Death? Is it really that mean? Maybe it comes to save us from loneliness, depression, and frustrations. Or are we just dissatisfied with how we lived our lives, we’re afraid we’ll soon be forgotten just like that? To live wonderfully, I try to remember this all the time: DO WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY. People would forget who we were but they’d never forget how we made them feel.
Death must come to unveil new life.
Heroes must die to make way for other heroes.
Legends must die to inspire new breed.
Death is an ending of a beautiful life and love stories.
Death comes and a new chapter of life begins.

I'm awksome & adorkable, my cute way of justifying my clumsiness. Born in PH 1989, last wave of people born in the 80's. Never stop learning. I'm a licensed nurse who currently studies law. I'd probably learn pastry making soon but maybe calligraphy lessons sooner. Normal is boring. Most of the people close to me prolly think I'm weird. I dunno. Love is my religion, I'm a low-key agnostic. Jed's greatest fan or biggest headache. hihi

About the Blog

WONOLOGUES is an experimental blog I started in 2008. I coined it by combining WOWO+MONOLOGUES. Wowo is my nickname. I was told that it came from the word "wow". I believed them. I envision this blog to be a wonderful monologue as told by Wowo, just a hodgepodge of all things I find wonderful. I just came back from a year of hiatus. New blog posts weekly.
