Waiting Right Here

( I had a blast last week, for real,!:) And I wanna blog it soon with lots and lots of fun pictures right here but I'm more melancholic at this hour. So I decided to write about waiting instead. Sounds really ironic though but here’s how I’d like to expound on that note.)

All of us have waited for something. Right Camz

No room for denials, it’s a general fact.

Whether we had lined up for concert tickets, stood for minutes to pee in the female’s room, and spared time to wait for a cab ride home. We probably had our share of waiting, and more scenarios that ultimately tested our patience.

One guy out there is maybe waiting for that pretty girl to smile back at him after sort of stalking her for a while. While that pretty girl was probably waiting for him to ask her out directly. Well, chances are. Or after a big fight, lovers are silently praying for the other to apologize first. Too bad for proud individuals to ever demand for a “Sorry, I messed up babe,” from a partner. Maybe after a long time of being together and feeling sure you want to settle down with the man of your dreams, he ends up choked and unready to get himself tied.

So, are there really things worth the wait or is it about time, we all have to be assertive? I’m not saying everything must come out instantly, (I mean, as someone told me before: “Even instant noodles needs 3 minutes to cook in hot water.”) nor am I pointing out that we need to throw tantrums for whatever that doesn’t come on time but hey, what’s the issue, really?

So we probably heard people telling us, “Good things come to those who wait,”. I am not really a patient person so I asked them back, “How long should I wait?”.

Sadly though, that patience in waiting have allowed people to play safe, to get satisfied by anything they got, to wait for people to push them farther than the stationary spot they’re on.

We’ve approved life’s waves to take us, and waiting have brought us into further confusions and dilemma if we would want to pursue something.
What has kept you waiting anyway in the first place?
Have you had a change of heart?

“Good things come to those who want something so bad, they can’t sit still”. Maybe too impatient but yeah, if you’re really driven, you sure can go risk everything. One friend have escaped her safe zone and married an almost stranger after three months of whirlwind love affair. She wanted true love and she got that. She took the chance and she’s old enough to take in all the consequences of her actions.

So, should you or should you not wait? That depends upon the sincerity of your desire and the will of your soul.

The main point here is probably not the act of waiting.

We’ve had our times of waiting and prolonged patience because we’re afraid to know the answers. We keep asking God for signs; we keep asking our family’s reassurance because we’ve been like coward dogs. We shy away from our aspirations because of the fear of rejection and failure. We keep on disappointing ourselves so we give us time, but what for, really?

Take some more big steps. You’re closer than you think you are. Almost there.

About the Blog

WONOLOGUES is an experimental blog I started in 2008. I coined it by combining WOWO+MONOLOGUES. Wowo is my nickname. I was told that it came from the word "wow". I believed them. I envision this blog to be a wonderful monologue as told by Wowo, just a hodgepodge of all things I find wonderful. I just came back from a year of hiatus. New blog posts weekly.
