Saturday Movie Special

Saturday, February 16, 2013

I haven't gone to the cinema for for than three months I guess, I'm too lazy to line up to the mall and it seems that I'd rather grab some good food than spend a few hundred bucks for an hour or two film. Well, we all love some feel-good movies, and here's my unofficial list for the best must-watch films worthy of some pop-corn and ice cream marathon on a Saturday. Saves the energy for a night out maybe :)

1. Think Like A Man (2012)

The movie is based on the book "Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man" by Steve Harvey. It is hilarious, full of lessons about men, love and relationships. It seems like your typical men vs women, with a few punchlines and tearjerkers throughout plus the soundtrack could make you dance and groove the whole two-hours run of the movie.

2. Death at a Funeral (2010)

It is one sad family movie. No! haha. Really, really funny, there are a lot of effortlessly funny moments. Maybe it's the characters or the simplicity of the plot where everything happens in just one funeral. It talks about family, dreams, relationships and all the shit and fun that comes with it.

3. Life of Pi (2012)

I have not read the book but oh I was really thrilled watching this film. I can watch this all over again minus the audio. It's visually wonderfully made. It talks about life and trials and survival, test of faith and identity. I love how the story is unfolded and how it seems like you're entering a different dimension.

4. The Prestige (2006)

Watch Wolverine and Batman dropping the claws and masks and capes and superpowers. This is one good movie. It is quite a bore at the beginning but it shows a whole different view of magics and shows and friendship and ego and all the controversies and issues in between. Beautifully made movie, love the ending.

I hope you enjoy the movie as much as I did :)

About the Blog

WONOLOGUES is an experimental blog I started in 2008. I coined it by combining WOWO+MONOLOGUES. Wowo is my nickname. I was told that it came from the word "wow". I believed them. I envision this blog to be a wonderful monologue as told by Wowo, just a hodgepodge of all things I find wonderful. I just came back from a year of hiatus. New blog posts weekly.
