Make Time For...

"It's not about having time, it's about making time"

21st century has made everything seem too fast. I sometimes feel like gasping for air without physically moving. Just thinking about catching up with deadlines takes me out of breath. Everything seems to be gone in a matter of time. Trends change season after season. Restaurants open up and close down after the hype. Friends are about to sell their iPhone7s to get the iPhone8.

While we haven't found the fountain of youth yet, we can only do so much in a day. Most of us millennials feel entitled to everything: a large pay check that can bring us to any travel destination we want to go to with our latest gadgets and curated clothes for that perfect ootd and travel shot topped with our drop-dead gorgeous partner.

We live in the now. We say: YOLO. We try to do everything in so little time while we can.

Do you remember that time Justin Timberlake acted in a movie? While some people dissed him for the awful acting, I was struck by the concept of the movie In Time . Imagine living in a society in the future where people are genetically modified to stop aging at 25 and each citizen will have 1 more year to live. It was a very literal picture of Time is Gold. Buy time, give time, make time for things that matter.

Smart gave me a wake up call through this clip. Watch the video if you haven't already.

I thought it was gonna end tragically. Sorry. But glad it didn't.

Cliche as it goes, "We are so busy growing up, we forget they're growing old."

We all have 24 hours in a day but never for even a second our moms didn't think of us. But how many times have we felt guilty because we didn't make time for them? We had time to drink with friends. We had time to study and time to complain about not having enough time to study. We had time for those overtime work in the office. We had time for that interview 3-hours away. We had time for those food trips and awesome getaways. How many times have we felt guilty not having time for Mom and didn't bother to do something about it?

How about we call them now? Or send them a message with the emojis of course. Make them laugh with gifs and warm their hearts with our #atm photos. We don't have to be fancy all the time. I honestly haven't given a Mother's Day gift for mom last year and even during the years before that. Sorry Mom. But I hope that I can make it up to you. Love you.

I'm awksome & adorkable, my cute way of justifying my clumsiness. Born in PH 1989, last wave of people born in the 80's. Never stop learning. I'm a licensed nurse who currently studies law. I'd probably learn pastry making soon but maybe calligraphy lessons sooner. Normal is boring. Most of the people close to me prolly think I'm weird. I dunno. Love is my religion, I'm a low-key agnostic. Jed's greatest fan or biggest headache. hihi

About the Blog

WONOLOGUES is an experimental blog I started in 2008. I coined it by combining WOWO+MONOLOGUES. Wowo is my nickname. I was told that it came from the word "wow". I believed them. I envision this blog to be a wonderful monologue as told by Wowo, just a hodgepodge of all things I find wonderful. I just came back from a year of hiatus. New blog posts weekly.
