Cebu Weekend OOTD

Sunday, January 22, 2017

Disclaimer: Forgive me for I don't know what I'm doing says me to me. I'm not a fashion blogger BTW.

Jed and I went for an unplanned weekend trip to Cebu. We traveled lite, no checked in luggage and no itinerary lol We wanted to be spontaneous! *excuses* So, how would you pack lite for an unknown adventure? woah, There's no hard and fast rule really. As for me, I just grabbed whatever fit in my bag that Thursday evening (the night before our early morning Friday flight). Tip: try to pack separates with light materials so you can just mix and match, then layer too. Also, try to consider the place - weather, culture and the possible activities.

All I knew was we're going to spend 2 nights 3 days in Cebu. Cebu is most often than not hot and humid, but we got an advisory the night before that it was going to be rainy in the Visayas. I packed my swim wear (just in case our Canyoneering trip will push through) and a Sunday dress (I never got to wear both the dress and the swim wear). I don't really have a "style" but if you'd ask me, I'd go for comfort over style in white, black, and other basic pieces *wink*

DAY 1

It was really cold! We went to the airport just a little after 2 AM. Better sleep in the airport than miss  a 4 AM flight! Whew!

fresh from the airport, Jed and I got lost in Lapu-lapu/Mactan lol
Shoes: Converse Shirt: F21
Sweater: Gap Jeans: Thrifted

It was raining when we arrived in Cebu. However, the sun became scorching hot around after lunch so I changed into a more comfortable pair of shorts and shirt for a city tour. We walked most of the time and just asked around (adventure famor) hehe We visited several churches and lighted some candles so (to the Catholic conservatives) forgive me if I might have dressed inappropriately inside the religious place.

this was still from somewhere in Fuerte San Pedro

DAY 2

The sky was moody. We decided to put off the Canyoneering plan and Jed had to rest. And to make the most out of the time we were going to spend in Cebu without causing much strain to our health, we went on to another city tour. It wasn't really a tour. We just visited museums. (just 2 to be exact as the other one was too far out of the way)

This was taken at the front lawn of Casa Gorordo Museum
Shorts: Old Navy Shirt: Bench Plaid Polo: Thrifted

I intended to dress comfortably with something I can easily walk around with. I'm into whites these days (if you might not have noticed yet). I donned some plaid polo to layer coz it looked like it was about to rain when we got out of the hotel. After the trip to the museum, we grabbed some snacks in a Korean themed cafe. I took off the plaid polo and just went for all white. Let's say, it got hotter. I told you, the weather was really moody that day.

District on 53rd, IT Park Cebu, I actually wore the same white shorts lol
Top: Mango

DAY 3

The third day was sort of a panic day lol We haven't bought any pasalubongs yet. I wore my DBS shirt and again the white shorts to do some errands. Don't judge. We were on a rush haha

I tried to redeem myself by wearing some casual black dress, comfortable enough to go through the airport checks but presentable enough to feel like a true beauty queen lol

So there, just make the most of the basic pieces you have in your wardrobe.
Always make sure you're comfortable 😃 Fashion is what buy from the store. Style is a way of life 😃 Stay classy, never trashy. Follow only the trends that suits your personality. Don't feel pressured to like what everyone else pretends to like.

About the Blog

WONOLOGUES is an experimental blog I started in 2008. I coined it by combining WOWO+MONOLOGUES. Wowo is my nickname. I was told that it came from the word "wow". I believed them. I envision this blog to be a wonderful monologue as told by Wowo, just a hodgepodge of all things I find wonderful. I just came back from a year of hiatus. New blog posts weekly.
